A few weeks ago, I received an email from a very sweet friend of mine. She was asking a few of her photographer friends if we’d like to join in on a little project with her called “10 on 10″ and then we would all blog about it on the same day (the 10th of each month). I adore this friend, Shannon, so even without fully understanding the project I sent back a “yes” and let it sit in the back of my head for a while. Once it started getting closer to the 10th, I became more and more excited about this project.
I’ve spent the better part of this last year being too stressed out to do much shooting for myself. I used to take pictures of my kids daily. Then one day I looked up and realized it had been almost two months since I had taken any pictures of them. Not cool. And even if I did take pictures of them, I wasn’t sure if I should blog them. Everyone has different opinions and rules about what to blog and what not to blog. So I was hesitant, thinking maybe that’s not what people wanted to see. But here I am starting out again on my own, as K. Lane Photography. I’m in a new house, a new town…lots of new beginnings. This project couldn’t have come at a more perfect time.
The idea is to take 10 pictures over the span of 10 hours in a day. There are no rules really. So I set out to take pictures of just everyday, real stuff. The little things that make up my days. I failed miserably at trying to take them on the hour, each hour. So this is my 10 on 10ish. Be sure to scroll all the way to the bottom for the link to the next 10 on 10 blog!
My daily green smoothie. This one is my favorite. Spinach+banana+orange+pineapple=YUM.

I was completely caught off guard when these two cooperated for a full three seconds to get this shot. Love it.

I had a few (unexpected) hours without the kids so I made my little Ollie pose for me. He wasn’t thrilled with the hat idea.

I was grasping for things to shoot since I didn’t have the kids. Still managed to get them in this shot!

I have dreamy light in my new living room…

Finally! Some kids to make it interesting!

This last one made the entire day worth it. I bribed them. I told them they could get in the hot tub IF they let me take a picture of them with their very best smiles. I can’t wait to order this one. BIG.

Oh, that last one should be huge! It’s so adorable. I gotta say the ones of your computer screen and Ollie had me cracking up. The girls came in and saw Ollie and asked if we could go see him.
